Janet is a lawyer with experience in data analytics, alternative finance, and financial technology. Her most recent position was at a NYC-based fintech start-up, where she was Director of Research and Special Counsel. Earlier in her career, she was an associate at a large Wall Street law firm, where her practice was in commercial litigation. Before law school, she was a staff accountant in the audit department of Price Waterhouse (now PwC) and was a member of the team that performed the annual audit of the New York Stock Exchange. Janet has a B.S. in Applied Mathematics (Operations Research) from Yale and a J.D. from Cornell Law School.
In between Wall Street law and Union Square fintech, Janet was busy raising a family. She loves terrible puns (the worse, the better), spends her free time working on a novel that needs “just one more read-through,” and is on a life-long quest to find the perfect Dusty Road Sundae (coffee ice cream, hot fudge, and malt powder). Janet says if she’d had access to a site like Otterwize when she was starting her career, she probably would be living in a beautiful chalet somewhere in the Swiss Alps, working on that novel (while writing for Otterwize), and enjoying a sundae made with the finest Swiss chocolate.
